Article 51 of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and Montenegro, of the other part, contains provisions for limited coordination between the social security systems of Member States and Montenegro. A Decision of the Stabilisation and Association Council established by the Agreement is required in order that the principles set out in Article 51 can take effect. A number of other Agreements with third countries contain similar provisions on the co-ordination of social security systems. This proposal is part of a package of proposals which includes similar proposals with regard to the Agreements with Albania, San Marino and Turkey. A first package with similar proposals in respect of Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Israel was adopted by the Council in October 2010. |
