Primary responsibility for promoting farm products lies with producers, wholesalers and retailers, the processing industry and Member States. The European Community can, however, also make a useful contribution in this area by (part-)financing measures that provide information on, or promote, EU agricultural products and food on the Internal Market as well as in so called “third countries”, i.e. outside the EU.
