A growing number of European companies are promoting their corporate social responsibility strategies as a response to various social, environmental and economic pressures. A new European Commission Green Paper 'Promoting a European framework for corporate social responsibility' has triggered a wide debate on the benefits of the concept and ways in which it might be more extensively implemented.
