Project a waste of scarce funds, say scientists

European scientists as a whole take a negative view of the proposed European Institute of Technology, which they see as a politically motivated waste of scarce EU research and innovation funding. Most would prefer any additional money to be given to the new European Research Council (ERC) or used directly to improve existing universities.
