On 5 February 2003, the French Government welcomed the proclamation of the previous day, by the Assembly of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) that it had adopted a new Constitutional Charter for the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, known until that time as the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. This was a significant step forward by Serbia and Montenegro towards closer integration with Europe. |
