Since April 2015, the European Commission had organised 8 workshops on effective asset disclosure, whistle-blower protection, healthcare corruption, local public procurement, private sector corruption, political immunities, anti-corruption indicators and economic impact of corruption. In 2018 there was a EP Workshop How to better combat fraud?, which assessed the outcome of the Commission workshops. It also tried to know what impact they had on improving effectiveness of competent national authorities in fighting corruption and how should the European Commission should encourage Member States to fight against corruption? The second part of the workshop was devoted to the question on what are the EU and Member States doing to tackle corruption and what are best practices to share at EU level. |
