Press Release: The European Commission contributes to the restoration of justice in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo

The European Commission on 26 June 2006 approved a contribution of €7.9 million to the programme for the restoration of the judicial system in Eastern Congo (REJUSCO). There had been a number of European initiatives in previous years for the restoration of the judicial system in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and more especially in the eastern part of the country, in the areas affected by years of fighting.
