Press Release: The European Commission and the Liaison Committee of Development Non-Governmental Organisation to the EU

In the week beginning 18.12.00, the European Commission will receive the final draft report of an external audit into the financial management of the 'Liaison Committee of the Development Non-Governmental Organisations to the EU' (widely known by its French acronym CLONG). This audit, which has been on going through 2000, is likely to confirm financial mismanagement that may result in the need to recover funds in the order of approximately €1 million from CLONG.
