On 27-28 October, the EESC will hold the 6th EU-China civil society Round Table in Stockholm with the full support of the Swedish presidency. The Round Table will be the occasion to report and discuss on two main topics, 'Economic and social rights in China and in the EU' and 'Sustainable Development and Water'. Social dialogue will be the other subject of the meeting by focusing on its need to be free, independent and autonomous in order to do justice to its mission of conflict avoidance and peaceful conflict resolution. The unique role of employers and employees in this process will be debated as well. The 6th EU-China round table will also be the occasion to tighten even more the cooperation between the EESC and the Chinese Council and to welcome the deepening of their relations as a consequence of the recent mission that President Mario Sepi guided in China last September, by presiding the EESC Delegation's visit to Tibet upon the invitation of the Chinese counterparts.
