Following the understanding reached between the Palestinian Authority and the Israeli government on 5 May 2002 about transferring abroad 13 Palestinians evacuated from the Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity, and the agreement of those persons to be transferred temporarily to Member States of the European Union, the Council unanimously adopted by written procedure on 21 May 2002 a common position on the reception by EU Member States of the persons in question.
