Press Release: Structural funds: Commission approves decision in principle on Community Support Framework for Portugal for 2000-2006 (Objective 1)

On 14.3.00, the Commission adopted a decision in principle approving the Community Support Framework (CSF) for Portugal for the next seven years. Involved is Community support for less-developed regions, which will amount to €20 535 million. This is the Commission's first decision on a CSF for an Objective 1 region. The final text is to be signed by the Portuguese authorities and by Michel Barnier, European Commissioner for Regional Policy, in Lisbon on 31.3.00.
