In Dublin, on 7.7.00, Michel Barnier, the European Commissioner for Regional Policy and of Institutional Reform, launched a new regional development strategy for Ireland supported with funds from the European Union. In total, the contribution of the Union totals €3,172 million for the period 2000-2006. It is hoped that this strategy will have a considerable impact in terms of job creation, training and the creation of new small businesses in Ireland. |
