A 7-year education, training and employment programme for Scotland financed by the European Social Fund was agreed by the Commission on the 18 July 2000. The Objective 3 'Operational Programme' is one of several programmes currently being adopted to launch the new Structural Funds programming period. This is the first time that Scotland will have a separate programme for its Objective 3 activities, which will receive a total of €499 million in EU funding for the period 2000-2006. |
