The European Commission on 8 December 2005 initiated a formal investigation under EC Treaty State aid rules into aid granted to Hellenic Vehicle Industry S.A. (ELVO) of Greece. The Commission doubted that the effects of the aid were limited to the military business of ELVO and believed that the aid may have also favoured its civilian activities. |
