The European Commission authorised, under EC Treaty state aid rules, public funding of over €47 million for an investment project by BDN Sp. z o.o. Sp.k. belonging to BVG Medien Beteiligungs GmbH ('BVG') and linked to the Heinrich Bauer Verlag. The investment is intended to fund a new rotogravure printing plant in Nowogrodziec, south-west Poland. The Commission's in-depth investigation, launched in March 2008, revealed that the project was in line with the requirements of the EU rules on regional aid and in particular with the 2002 Multisectoral Framework. In particular, the production capacity created by the project was found to remain below 5% of the size of the relevant markets. |
