Press Release: Romania: Romania approved the English version of Romania and Bulgaria’s Accession Treaty to the European Union

President Traian Basescu and Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu approved the English version of Romania's Accession Treaty to the European Union. This represents the political agreement of Romania for the Treaty (the English version), that represents Romania's accession act to the European Union. At present, work is done on the translation of the Treaty into the community languages, in Romanian and in Bulgarian. In parallel, a political procedure is under way for the approval by the EU member states in the COREPER reunion, by Romania and by Bulgaria. Further more, the European Commission and the European Parliament approve this text. According to the approved calendar, the Treaty will be signed on April 25, 2005 and between 2005 and 2006, this should be ratified by the EU member states and by the candidate countries
