Press Release: Rajendra Pachauri: ‘We really need action on climate change now’

The President of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Rajendra Pachauri, called for urgent action against global warming.

Mr Pachauri took part in a conference organised by the European Parliament's Science and Technology Options Assessment body in Brussels. The scientist also presented the findings of the 5th IPCC report at a meeting with the French Minister for the Environment, Ségolène Royal, and Foreign Affairs Minister, Laurent Fabius.

The French government showed the intention to use the latest IPCC report as the basis for a political agreement at the Paris Climate conference in 2015.
