Press Release: Public procurement: WTO Government Procurement Agreement extended to the enlarged EU

The Government Procurement Agreement (GPA) of the World Trade Organisation was extended to the enlarged European Union in June 2004, following intense negotiations conducted by the European Commission. It became the first WTO agreement successfully adapted to the European Union's 2004 enlargement.

Suppliers in eacher GPA member can bid for government contracts in other GPA countries.
