Press Release: Practical help for protecting the rights of the weakest members of society

Vice-President Franco Frattini, European Commissioner responsible for Justice, Freedom and Security, stated: 'Today, 20 November 2007, we are celebrating the 18th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The European Commission is commemorating this anniversary and demonstrating its commitment to protecting the rights of the weakest members of society. For several years it has made the rights of the child one of its top priorities.'
