Press Release: Port reception facilities to prevent maritime pollution: European Commission sends reasoned opinions to seven Member States

The Commission on 12 October 2005 sent reasoned opinions - the last step before a formal complaint to the Court of Justice is lodged - to Belgium, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Portugal and Slovenia for failure to respect EU legislation on the improvement of the availability and use of port reception facilities for ship-generated waste and cargo residues.
