Press Release: Philippe Busquin takes part in the debate on human genetics in the European Parliament

In the debate held on 29 November 2001 in the European Parliament on the report of the EP's Temporary Committee on Human Genetics Philippe Busquin, Commissioner for Research, clarified the European Commission's position on the major questions connected with human genetics: research into stem cells and cloning, patentability of biotechnological inventions, genetic tests, production of genetics-based medicines, and use of personal data connected with genome analysis.
