At the second meeting of the G10 Medicines Group held on 26 September 2001, a series of measures were discussed which would facilitate stakeholder input on how best to enhance pharmaceutical industry competitiveness whilst safeguarding patient interests. It was agreed to launch an 8-week consultation exercise and workshops organised by G10 working groups on specific issues. The creation of the G10 Medicines website was also announced, and the G10 commissioned preparatory work for the final report, including recommendations, to be presented to Romano Prodi, President of the European Commission, by April 2002. |
