The European Commission has decided to send reasoned opinions to France, Luxembourg and Italy under formal infringement procedures. It considers that in all three countries the conditions patent agents must fulfil before being allowed to exercise their profession are discriminatory and as such run counter to Internal Market legislation concerning the freedom to provide services and the mutual recognition of diplomas. |
