European Commissioner for Trade Pascal Lamy announced 11.5.00 that the Commission's proposal to grant India the possibility of importing an extra 3,500 tonnes of textiles products in 2000, can now go ahead following the agreement of the 15 EU Member States. The proposal made under the terms of the 1994 EC-India Textiles trade Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), should bring to an end a deadlock on the implementation of the MoU. |
