Press Release: Paris Summit will launch ‘Barcelona Process: Union for the Mediterranean’

Sunday 13 July saw the launch of the 'Barcelona Process: Union for the Mediterranean' at a summit hosted by the French EU Presidency and uniting Heads of State and Government from the EU and the Mediterranean as well as the European Commission. This ambitious initiative aims at giving new depth and direction to Euro-Mediterranean relations while maintaining and reiterating the original ambitions of the Barcelona Declaration concerning the creation of an area of peace, security and prosperity
