Press Release: On the Road to Recovery: EU Regional Policy Commissioner Johannes Hahn approves Greece’s major motorway projects

EU financial support worth € 2.97 billion to allow the building of four motorways in Greece was approved on 16 December 2013 by the European Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn.

These investments – among the most important infrastructure projects in Greece – will be central to the country's economic recovery, connecting its regions with fast and safe motorways. The Commission has also found that the financial support granted by Greece is in line with EU state aid rules.
