Press Release: Ombudsman sends special report to Parliament concerning statements made by OLAF in the context of inquiry into allegations of bribery

The European Ombudsman, Nikiforos Diamandouros, sent a special report to the European Parliament on 17 May 2005 concerning statements that the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) made in the context of an inquiry he carried out. In this special report, the Ombudsman makes a recommendation to OLAF to acknowledge that it made incorrect and misleading statements in its submissions during the inquiry in question. He proposes that the Parliament adopt this recommendation as a resolution.
