The European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) on 31 August 2005 published its internal rules which govern its investigations and operations. The OLAF Manual, a collection of procedural rules, standards and forms for the Office's work, was made available for download on the internet. The 360 page code of conduct sets out the course to be followed for an investigation, including for example, the maintenance of professional secrecy, the handling of information received from whistleblowers, the protection of the rights of witnesses as well as those of the individuals affected by an inquiry. |
