The European Agency for the Evaluation of Medicinal Prodcuts (EMEA) welcomed the publication of the new European pharmaceutical legislation in the 'Official Journal of the European Union' on 30 April 2004. The revised legislative package introduced new responsibilities, a new administrative structure, and a new name for the Agency - the European Medicines Agency - though the acronym 'EMEA' will continue to be used. |
