Press Release: New comprehensive partnership between the EU and Greenland

A joint declaration establishing an enlarged partnership between the EU and Greenland was signed on 27 June 2006 in Luxembourg by representatives of Greenland, Denmark and the EU. By means of this joint declaration (10576/1/06 REV 1), the parties decided to strengthen the EU-Greenland relations, based until then mainly on a Fisheries Agreement, and enlarge their co-operation to sectors such as education and training, mineral resources, energy, tourism and culture, research and food safety.
