The Commission adopted 26 July 2000 a communication calling for the introduction of a mutual recognition regime “as direct and simple as possible” in the field of final decisions in criminal matters, among the Member States of the European Union. Mutual recognition was on the agenda of the informal Justice and Home Affairs Council in Marseilles on 28-29 July 2000. |
