Press Release: Mr Dick Roche, Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government meets European Commissioners on Sellafield

The Irish Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, Dick Roche, on 31 January 2006, met Franco Frattini, EU Vice President and Commissioner responsible for Justice, Freedom and Security and Andris Piebalgs, the Commissioner for Energy. The meeting concentrated on issues relating to the Sellafield nuclear plant in the United Kingdom, especially the leak discovered at the THORP facility in April 2005 and the status of Commission action on Pond B.30 at the site.
