Press Release: Minister launches publication for primary pupils on enlarged EU

The Irish Minister for Education and Science, Noel Dempsey, launched the 'Europlus' publication for primary schools at the Office of the European Commission in Ireland on 20 October 2003. The aim of the publication is to familiarise senior primary pupils with the workings of the European Union and especially with the history, geography, economy and society of each of the eight Eastern European countries, together with Malta and Cyprus, that will join the enlarged European Union on 1 May, 2004.
