Press Release: Migration and jobs: Parliament adopts next year’s EU budget

The European Parliament approved in plenary on 25 November 2015 the European Union budget for 2016, setting commitment appropriations at €155 billion and payment appropriations at €143.9 billion as agreed between EP and Council of the European Union on 14 November.

During the debate on 24 November, several speakers pointed out that the EU spending priorities set in the EU's Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) had to be reconsidered in the light of the changed circumstances since its adoption in 2013.

The chamber showed its intention to make the most of such a revision, coming up in 2016.
