Press Release: Mergers: Commission refers proposed acquisition of Super de Boer Assets by Schuitema to Dutch Competition Authority

Following a request from the Dutch Competition Authority ( Nederlandse Mededingingsautoriteit - NMa) under the EU Merger Regulation, the European Commission has decided to refer the assessment of Schuitema's proposed acquisition of assets of Super de Boer to the NMa. Both companies are Dutch. The Commission will refer the case in its entirety, as it considers that the proposed concentration could significantly affect competition in the retail market for daily consumer goods in The Netherlands alone.
