The European Commission on 14 October 2005 cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of the Polish company BTZ by Wielkopolskie Zaklady Tluszczowe ADM Szamotuly ('ADM Szamotuly') and the Dutch company Cefetra. The Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
