The European Commission on 8 September 2005 approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the proposed acquisition by BenQ Corporation ('BenQ') from Taiwan of the mobile device business of German Siemens AG ('the Siemens mobile device business'). After examining the operation, the Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it. |
