The European Commission on 25 May 2005 cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the acquisition by Vodafone of Clearwave, a holding company which has mobile telecommunications subsidiaries in the Czech Republic and Romania. The Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it. |
