Press Release: Mergers: Commission clears acquisition by FIAT of vehicle fleet management company Leasys

The European Commission on 25 November 2005 approved the acquisition of sole control by the FIAT Group, the Italian car manufacturer, over Leasys SpA, a company previously jointly controlled by FIAT and the Italian electrical group ENEL. Leasys was active in the field of long-term renting of light and heavy vehicles and fleet management services in Italy. The Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
