The European Commission on 26 April 2006 authorised, under the EU Merger Regulation, the proposed joint venture between Burda of Germany and Hachette of France, both active in magazine publishing. The notified concentration would result in Burda and Hachette combining their respective magazine publishing activities in Poland. The Commission concluded that the deal would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it. |
