Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves proposed acquisition of Saurer by Oerlikon

The European Commission has cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition by Oerlikon Corporation AG of the Swiss-based company Saurer AG. Oerlikon, also incorporated in Switzerland, is a supplier of high-tech coatings and components while Saurer manufactures transmission systems and textile machinery. The Commission concluded that the proposed transaction would not significantly impede competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
