Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves acquisition of Sony’s television production in Slovakia and Mexico by Foxconn

The European Commission cleared under the EU Merger Regulation on 25 June 2010 the proposed acquisition by the Taiwanese company Foxconn of Sony entities producing televisions in Slovakia and Mexico. After examining the operation, the Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
