The European Commission on 4 August 2005 cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed transaction whereby the Dutch company United Services Group N.V. acquired sole control of the Belgian company Solvus N.V Both companies were active in the temporary employment services business. After examining the operation, the Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area or any substantial part of it and therefore approved the concentration
