Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves acquisition of Philips Monitors’ business by TPV

The European Commission on 8 August 2005 approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the proposed acquisition by Hong Kong based TPV Technology Limited ('TPV') of Dutch Royal Philips Electronics NV's businesses active in the sale of computer monitors and flat screen televisions to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customers ('Philips Monitors'). After examining the operation, the Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
