The European Commission on 19 April 2006 cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of Eduard Küsters Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co KG ('Küsters'), a German manufacturer of calenders (used in paper and textiles manufacturing), by the Austrian producer of paper-manufacturing machinery Andritz GmbH ('Andritz'). After investigation the Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the EEA or any substantial part of it.
