The European Commission on 27 September 2005 cleared, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of joint control by Electra Partners Europe SA of France and CVC Capital Partners Advisory Company (CVC) of Luxembourg over the monochrome book manufacturing activities of the Chevrillon Philippe Industrie group (CPI) of France. After examining the operation, the Commission concluded that the proposed operation would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
