Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves acquisition of British Vita by TPG IV

The European Commission on 7 June 2005 cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of British Vita PLC, a manufacturer and supplier of polymer-based products for various end applications, by TPG IV, a US-based private equity fund. After examining the transaction, the Commission concluded that it would not significantly impede effective competition in the EEA or any substantial part of it and has therefore approved the concentration.
