Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves acquisition of Athlon by De Lage Landen

The European Commission on 31 June 2006 cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of sole control of Athlon, an international provider of car leasing and car body repair, by De Lage Landen, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rabobank. De Lage Landen was to acquire sole control by way of a public bid. The European Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
