Press Release: MEPs call for urgent action to protect religious minorities against ISIS

The European Parliament's plenary session approved on 4 February 2016 a resolution urging the international community to take urgent action to counter the systematic mass murder of religious minorities by the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) or Daesh.

The text followed a debate on 20 January with Federica Mogherini, the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Policy, in which many MEPs called for measures to protect all religious and minority groups against ISIS attacks.
