The European Commission's Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) strengthened further in March 2006 with an increase of 0.8 of a point in both the EU and the euro area. The indicator had been on an upward trend since the summer of 2005. In both areas, the indicator was now at its highest level since mid-2001. |
